Summary:
Pitt Meadows Golf Club is now accepting applications for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Pitt Meadows Golf Club was founded in 1963 and is a non-profit, member-owned golf club with over 600 very active members and is located 40 minutes east of Downtown Vancouver. Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for the co-ordination of the day to day operations of the Turf care team. The successful, self-motivated individual will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and will present an enthusiastic, professional attitude while meeting the responsibilities of the position.
Responsibilities:
- Take part in daily golf course procedures.
- Participate in the application of chemicals as well as liquid and granular fertilizers.
- Take part in the monitoring, scheduling and repair of the irrigation system.
- Responsible for the supervision, mentoring, and training of the turf care team alongside the Superintendent.
- Prepare clear and concise reports and maintain effective employee and member relations.
- Assist in planning, supervising, and layout of all construction on the Course.
- Maintain tees, greens, fairways, rough and bunkers to a standard as determined by the Superintendent.
Qualifications:
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in turfgrass management.
- BC pesticide applicators license or the ability to obtain one.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3 years minimum experience in golf course maintenance.
- Supervisory and team management skills.
Compensation:
- Full-time year-round position.
- Wage $60- 80,000 annual salary based on experience and suitability.
