About Us:

Fairview Mountain Golf Club Established in 1925 is a semi private golf club with a challenging 18-hole championship course, a full-service clubhouse, driving range and practice facility. Fairview Mountain is a regular in the top 100 public courses to play in the country and strives to ensure an excellent experience both on and off the golf course for its members and guests. The golf course is located in the South Okanagan’s wine capital of Canada, Oliver BC. One of the country’s most temperate climates, it is a true hot spot with little to no rainfall and extremely mild winters. A perfect place to live, work and play.

Summary:

Fairview Mountain Golf Club is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent. The successful candidate shall possess a strong work ethic, will lead by example and work extremely well with others. In an integral leadership role, the Assistant Superintendent will
collaborate and develop strong working relationships with the Golf Course Superintendent, Equipment Manager and the FMGC management team. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for the leadership and execution of the Turf team’s day-to-day operations. It is expected the Assistant
Superintendent will be a professional individual who will act as a representative and leader for the golf course maintenance department and as an extension of the Golf Course Superintendent in their absence.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Degree or diploma in a turf or turf related program.
  • 3 years minimum of golf course experience in a supervisory role.
  • Have or be able to obtain a BC pesticide applicator certificate.
  • Strong working knowledge of all irrigation systems, central controls and pump stations.
  • Training, scheduling and supervising the course team.
  • Assist in record keeping of all fertility, herbicide and fungicide programs.
  • Assist in labor, operational and capital budgeting.
  • Will assume the responsibilities of course operations in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Fulltime year-round position.
  • 60-70K salary based on experience plus benefits.
