 Prince Rupert Golf Club - Superintendent

 

Summary:

The Prince Rupert Golf Club is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent. The successful candidate will oversee the turf care operations at the club, reporting to the General Manager. This is a year round, 12-month position. 

The Prince Rupert Golf Club, also known as Prince Rupert Centennial, was proudly founded in 1967 at Canada’s 100th year. The club has now been in operation for 56 years and is known for its lush grass and wilderness setting.

Prince Rupert is BC’s northern most port city and home to 13,000 residents. Prince Rupert has an abundance of great fishing and hiking, with a diversity of wildlife, satisfying to anyone who loves nature. Prince Rupert is a great community with friendly people and a tight knit fabric.

Position and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operation of golf course turf operations and maintenance.
  • Operation of golf course equipment. (Mowers, rollers, sprayers, etc.)
  • Maintaining power cart fleet.
  • Personnel management including hiring, training, coaching, safety, performance evaluation, and labour relations.
  • Budgeting and forecasting for day to day needs of the course as well as larger capital projects and equipment replacement and repair.
  • Inventory control.
  • Safe and appropriate use of chemicals, pesticides, and commercial products.
  • Scheduling and planning of resources including people, equipment, supplies, etc. 
  • Coordinate winter maintenance activities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Turf Grass Management.
  • Knowledge and experience with use of chemicals and pesticides in compliance with regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience maintaining and using irrigation patterns, constructing greens and tee boxes.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $75,000-$85,000 annual base salary depending on experience.
