Shuswap Lake Golf Course is seeking a skilled and dedicated Golf Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and management of our golf course, ensuring exceptional playing conditions and overall aesthetics. This role requires a strong background in turf management, team leadership, and a passion for delivering a world-class golfing experience. If you have a keen eye for detail and a proven track record in golf course maintenance, we invite you to be part of our picturesque North Okanagan Shuswap region course.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role with golf course maintenance.
  • Profound knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems and pest control.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage a team of maintenance staff.
  • Ability to plan and execute maintenance schedule efficiently.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to changing conditions.
  • Dedication to upholding the golf course standards and enhancing its visual appeal.
  • Relevant certification or degrees in turf management, fertilizer controls are preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of golf.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all aspects of course maintenance, including but not limited to, turf care, irrigation,
  • fertilization, and equipment update.
  • Lead and coordinate a team to ensure daily operations are carried out effectively.
  • Collaborate with Management to establish and achieve maintenance goals.
  • Implement pest and weed management programs in an environmentally safe manner.
  • Monitor and manage our Toro Lynx irrigation system to ensure proper watering and conservation.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, expenses, and equipment inventory.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets and operate within financial parameters.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and advancement in course maintenance.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork safety and excellence.
