Job Descriptions and Duties:
Furry Creek Golf and Country Club is seeking a skilled Assistant Superintendent to enhance our beautiful course. This position involves overseeing daily maintenance tasks, managing turf conditions, and leading a dedicated groundskeeping team. The ideal candidate possesses a valid BC Landscape Pesticide License and a diploma, degree, or certificate in Turf Management or. - Execute daily maintenance tasks to ensure optimal turf conditions on greens, fairways, and other playing surfaces.
- Lead and supervise the grounds maintenance team, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed efficiently.
- Provide training and guidance to groundskeeping staff, fostering a positive culture.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and coordinate repairs with the mechanic.
- Collaborate with the superintendent to plan and execute course improvement projects.
- Assist in budget development and management for maintenance activities.
- Implement sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in golf course management.
Qualifications:
- Have or be able to obtain a BC Landscape Pesticide Applicator Certificate within 90 days of employment.
- Diploma, degree, or certificate in Turf Management is preferred.
- Two years experience in golf course maintenance or related field.
- Motivated problem solver with a desire to succeed.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills – written, oral, and listening.
- Experience with irrigation systems from fixes to its operating system.
- Must possess a Valid Driver’s License.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $5000-$6000/month based on qualifications.
