Fall has hit the west coast of BC. As I sit down to write this report the rain is thumping down and a northwest wind is blowing hard! It’s been another busy year for the Island chapter with great guest speakers and good attendance at the meetings. Thanks to all the superintendents that hosted a meeting or an event. Your hard work was appreciated by all members.
Special thanks to Brett Lamontage and the Cottonwood Golf Club for hosting the Provincial Exchange Tour-nament this August. The number of those attending was lower than other years but for those of us that found the time, a good time was had by all.
Coming up on January 30th is the Vancouver Island Golf Superintendents Association Hockey Team hosting the MS Charity Hockey Game. I would encourage everybody to do what you can to make this event an even greater success than last year. Oh, and by the way, Rob Wilke…on the island, the pucks we use are black and unscented!
That’s all for now! Keep your sticks on the ice.
Rory Johnstone,
Vancouver Island Director to the BCGSA
