Belmont Golf Course is located in Langley, BC and is a part of the West Coast Golf Group. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant Superintendent to join our team at Belmont and the WCGG.
Responsibilities:
- In the absence of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent assumes the Acting Superintendent role
- Work closely with the Superintendent in preparing both short and long-term agronomic strategies
- Organize and direct the daily activities of the golf maintenance staff
- Daily communication with the Superintendent
- Carry out daily monitoring of all turfgrass environments and all other areas on the grounds
- Communicate with Pro Shop staff about delays, closures and maintenance scheduling
- Help to create a positive environment
- Mentor and help develop staff in all areas. This includes equipment operation, irrigation maintenance and operation, spraying techniques and safety orientation and training
- Involvement in all aspects of HR, including hiring and disciplinary actions
Candidate Qualifications:
- Has completed or is enrolled in a turf management program
- Minimum 3 years of golf course experience
- Excellent leadership and troubleshooting skills
- Valid BC driver’s license
- Experience in supervising, directing, scheduling and training staff
- Pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain one
- Ability to meet and exceed the physical demands of the position
- Knowledge of the game of golf
- Minimum 3 years of irrigation system operation, troubleshooting and maintenance experience
Compensation:
- Salary $55,000 - $60,000
